	Why is being standards-based important?

Solution Gizmo5 is a standards-based VoIP solution. Gizmo5 is completely SIP compliant.
And here's how that benefits you:
You can communicate with other networks: If you, or some of your friends are already using VoIP, then you will be able to communicate with one another without all switching to the same network provider. (As long as the other provider is also SIP 2.0 compliant)
You can use hardware if you want to: There are many 3rd party vendors out there, making hardware devices that you can use to connect a physical telephone, PBX, or other device to a VoIP network. There are many options available today, and many more that are yet to come...
Competition will always keep prices down: Gizmo Project currently has some of the cheapest rates available to call PSTN phones, or to get a phone number for incoming PSTN calls. Even if Gizmo5 gained a dominant market share, we would still not be able to raise rates too high (or people would just switch to another compatible service).
